Located at one of Montana's first military posts, this museum houses rotating exhibits and devotes an entire wing to the 25th Infantry Bicycle Corps. A recreated Western town of the late 1800s takes visitors back in time to the days of carriage houses and homestead cabins.

This is one of those places that will intrigue history buffs. It is also a place you have to want to go to since it a little off the beaten path. That said, it is worth the effort.

They are currebtly restoring the fort so I am sure more of it's history will be made available. My husband and I were blown away to find out that members of our Italian population were held here.

Enjoyed the informational video before walking the grounds. Learned a lot and was fun to see things we remember in our lives in the museum!

We visited Ft. Missoula not really knowing what to expect. The visitor center didn't open until noon, but we were able to do a walking tour around the fort and learn about history of this location. Currently there is also some construction.

We went here with zero expectations and were pleasantly surprised. Really nice area and interesting exhibitions. Staff were very friendly and it was reasonably priced ($4 per person).
