Located at one of Montana's first military posts, this museum houses rotating exhibits and devotes an entire wing to the 25th Infantry Bicycle Corps. A recreated Western town of the late 1800s takes visitors back in time to the days of carriage houses and homestead cabins.

This was probably the best historical activity we did in Missoula, a great way to learn about the area's history. We particularly enjoyed the old postcard collection. Allow plenty of time to enjoy all of the out buildings.

We packed a picnic lunch. We explored several of the historic buildings. One of the buildings formerly housed Japanese during WWII. I enjoyed the exhibit about logging. Our granddaughter loved running through the fields. We ate our lunch near the Rose Garden. I would love to return someday.

Very well organized facility with info on all the buildings onsite. Take a trip back in time to see what a frontier fort would look like with the added buildings for both WW1 & WWII time periods. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Inside displays were very good to every outside Canon to building labeled with helpful maps everywhere.

A fun field trip is heading out to the Fort Missoula Museum and grounds. There is so much to see, explore and do. Depending on the time of year, visitors can bike, hike, watch fireworks, purchase artists' creations and go to the museum. Entrance fees may apply - nominal, but other events are free and open to the public.

Fort Missoula has a fun and comprehensive meuseum and grounds that has something for almost everyone. There is a garden, a museum that showcases Missoula's history. My favorite exhibit is the houses of Missoula. it shows several of the homes in Missoula over the last century. It is really neat to see the homes as they once were, and now.... More

Lots of displays from most of the conflicts the US has been involved in during the 20th and 21st century. Anyone who is a Military Free Fall Parachutist should check out the Vietnam era HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) display. Not something everyone will appreciate but old Special Forces HALO guys will really appreciate it.

We were there with some younger kids, so it was fun for them to run around and see what life was like many years ago.

This was a really investing stop learning about the variety of things Fort Missoula has been before becoming a museum. We'd never head of the bicycle corps before! Or the Italians caught here during WWII. Love the days when I learn something!

I had the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful attraction with a group of genealogists. Our love for history made this a great place to tour. The grounds and buildings are well maintained and inside the museum are fun artifacts.

We spent 4th July 2016 here at Fort Missoula and visited the museum during the day. It really is a good history lesson for all. We wandered casually through the museum for a hour or more looking at all the military history. It covers a lot of American war history and is excellent for tourist from overseas. I would recommend... More
