At the Three Forks headwaters of the Missouri River, I found myself alone. Few visitors seem to linger here, but there is space to camp and simply to admire the beauty of the Great Plains, in the foothills of Montana's Rocky Mountains. In October, brilliant...More

I'm a Lewis and Clark nerd, so I loved this - and it was so quiet and peaceful when we visited. One of the places where you can easily imagine the Expedition going by.

Though don't tell that to a Minnesotan! Lots of interpretive information. A strikingly beautiful spot well worthy of visiting. Personally, I would never have missed it!
