One of the easiest hikes in the Bitterroot valley. Mostly shaded and follows the Bear Creek up to the falls which is about 1.5 miles from the trail head. The trail continues for many miles but most people stop at the falls.

Whether you are planning a short hike or an all day affair, Bear Creek Trailhead is a great beginning point. A nice picnic area greets you from the easy parking area. The trailhead is easy to reach, but drive slowly on the dirt portion of the road as there are usually some large potholes! Plenty of parking even for horse trailers (and yes, horses are allowed on this trail). The trail, which takes you into the wilderness, is pretty easy with some steeper parts. Its a nice even hike along the creek which has lots of water. Only 45 minutes to a really nice bridge over the creek which is really a river. Great for beginners.

Very beautiful hike with many open areas and spectacular views. Bear Creek has slabs of rock where the water flows over those slabs and and colors of green created by underwater moss.
