GREAT adventure, no experience required!
Mar 2021 • Couples
If you like adventure, enjoy the outdoors, and love dogs, this activity is for you! Jason and crew do a fabulous job providing just the right amount of training and guidance then allow you the ultimate experience of mushing a team (with a guide providing the expert oversite). As it was late in the winter season, we only had an hour to enjoy the activity but had a fantastic time at the Yellowstone Dogsled adventure camp.
YDA is short 20 minute drive from Big Sky with simple directions to their camp off of highway 191. Make sure to dress appropriately and arrive ready to have great time interacting with the dogs. All the info you need to know is provided in the email provided.

Exceeded my expectations!

We got a good overview of the dogs, their care, and how to drive a sled. And then we were off!!!! The dogs, Alaskan Huskies - a unique breed bred to LOVE running! Jason and Nate made us feel comfortable and were great tour guides. The scenery is beautiful. This is a very unique experience, I recommend it to everyone.

Love the sled dogs
Mar 2021
Sergey and Charmaine were our guides and they were patient and knowledgable and they had a good sense of humor. Jason, the owner, was there and we was welcoming and informative. It was a pleasure to spend the morning at the dog camp--you will need a four wheel drive vehicle to get back there. We enjoyed the working dogs who just loved to pull the sled, they get SO excited. They also love the attention and feel free to pet them. This is good for children on up to the elderly. I recommend this experience.

Dogsledding in Montana

Fun and educational. They let you drive the sled and its actually such a blast. They do their best to keep it safe, and the dogs seem really happy and well cared for.

Great time!
Feb 2021
We had a blast. Owner and guides were all upbeat and super nice, engaging and loved to talk about their dogs. Also encouraged interacting with and petting the dogs, which my daughter really liked.
They were good at instruction on how to drive the sled, and were very patient with folks that were having issues. Driving was easy and fun, and it was cool to see the dogs work. Riding was very relaxing as well, and allowed you to take in the scenery.
Overall, I just got the vibe that they love what they do, and love sharing it with others as well. Great people, great operation.
And...when else will you ever drive/ride a dogsled???
Highly recommend!

Fun in the snow!
Feb 2021
I can't recommend this experience enough! We were in Montana for my 40th birthday and wanted to book some super cool experiences. From start to finish, Yellowstone Dog Sled Adventures did not disappoint. Booking online is easy - we receive a response within 24 hours that answered all of our questions. We were provided with a list of what to wear, what to expect, and detailed directions before we had to commit to the experience. We were very comfortable after reading all of the information and had Yellowstone Dog Sled Adventures was able to accommodate our day/time requested.

Day of our adventure there was a huge snow storm (no surprise it was Montana in February!) and the directions were perfect. We got there without any issue. My husband and I did the 'Learn to Mush' and it was worth every penny. Jason is incredible and leads a team of knowledgeable and committed staff that made the experience top notch. These guys love what they do and it shows. The dogs are well trained and well loved and we had the most precious team of dogs and spent two hours lost in the most peaceful snowstorm sledding through Yellowstone backcountry.

When you're passionate about what you do, it shows and I cannot recommend them enough. I would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for making my birthday trip extra special. And give our love to Goldie - she was our favorite! :)

Bucket List Adventure
Feb 2021 • Couples
This was a bucket list item and Jason and his team of guides and especially the dogs were amazing. It was perfect! Snowy day and an adventure of a life time. Dog sledding outside Yellowstone National Park being pulled through snow covered pine trees and the best part we had our own sled and dog team! Don’t give it a 2nd thought! Book the trip today!

Doggone great time!
Jan 2021
My husband and I did the "Learn to Mush" experience and it was great in all regards. The owner was very welcoming and gave us a wealth of interesting background information. Nate was a fabulous guide, the dogs were well cared for and happy, and the experience was simply a great deal of fun. Each of us had the opportunity to be in charge of the sled while the other was the passenger. Plenty of time sledding with a break to have some hot chocolate and sit by the outside fire then back out again. The sledding area has plenty of ups and downs and turns to make things interesting. Two thumbs up for a well fun and very enjoyable adventure!!

Best Winter Attraction in Montana!
Dec 2020
The owner, Jason, was kind enough to pick us up outside of camp since we didn't have a 4WD vehicle. Jason's strong passion for the general well being of his 65 sled dogs showed in what we found to be a well organized and incredibly fun experience! The dogs were beyond excited to get started and were more than happy to receive continuous pets from guests. Well taken care of trails and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful experience and highly recommend!
