WE were here in 2016 and used the old gps GaperGuide. It's even better now that it is an app and not a device you have to return. It was a little aqward to set up but it is the best way to see Yellowstone on your own. The information is spot on and accurate with regards to where you are. When you stop, the narration stops. The GPS is very accurate. Everything you are seeing is explained in detail. I love this app!

We rented the Gaperguide for our time in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Park. We were traveling with our 10-year-old grandson, who also enjoyed all the interesting facts and helpful hints. It's great to hear when a picnic area with bathrooms is ahead, etc. We had some difficulty starting the device, but a call to customer service fixed it quickly and courteously. Well worth the rental price. And you don't deplete your cell phone battery with a phone ap and no service.

While planning our vacation to Yellowstone, I discovered The GaperGuide on-line. After reading about it & contacting the owner Will, I decided it was just what we needed to to tour both Yellowstone & The Tetons. Touring the park with our personal guide, surpassed our expectations. Since we weren’t worried about missing anything, we found ourselves more relaxed and taking in our scenic surroundings. In addition, we learned so much interesting background information. Don’t rely on a phone app as your guide - because guess what? Most of the time within the parks, we had no cell service! If you want to maximize your parks experience this is definitely a must rent.

We rented the gaperguide last week while in the area and I believe it to be one of the smartest moves I made during my vacation! The unit worked flawlessly. It was full of pertinent info and great recommendations. My wife and I especially liked it when we first started out driving north from the Jackson location. When we passed the hills and first saw the Tetons, the music started, and the guide said “there they are”, we both got huge kick out of it :)! I thought I had planned pretty well for our trip, but there were several times when the guide informed us of things that I had never heard! From a financial standpoint, we were debating using the gaperguide or a cheaper phone app. I can’t comment on the app, but I feel the gaperguide was worth every penny. We’ve already told several folks about the guide and will definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area

We used the Gaper guide last year with good results rented from the Gaper store outside of Jackson Hole on the way to Grand Tetons. Came back this year to see Yellowstone and we were surprised to find an employee with such a terrible attitude. The workerwas sitting outside and seemed upset we asked for help. She then quoted a price over the advertised priced. When my daughter said " I can read a map instead" the employee walked out of the store knocking a chair over, clearly out of control. We instead purchased a book called YELLOWSTONE TREASURES by Janet Chapple which was AMAZING and answered every question we had.
