Have been to the Firle Vintage Fair for the last three years.....warm fun and lively atmosphere, love the classic cars, stalls from fabulous vintage shops based round Sussex. I love textiles and always collect something. Loads of space, beautiful setting. Love the music too.

To all who were let down in the same way as I, I feel for you. I'm in the same situation having been deceived by 'Nigel' assuring me my refund would be in my account within 14 days. This was on Friday 23rd August and lo and behold, I'm still waiting.

Since the deadline for the promised refund (Friday 13th September), I have emailed numerous time a day; I have sent countless messages via their web site; even more messages via their Facebook page all to no avail. I have also called their telephone number 07885827849 many times at all times of the day and left many messages but none of my calls have been returned. I found that Firle Vintage Fairs operate in conjunction with Love Brocante Ltd. I have tried emailing them but just get a bounce back, i.e. the email address doesn't exist. The telephone number above is listed as belonging to this company so FFF and LB Ltd are obviously one and the same. I have tried, as a last resort, to become a member of both the Firle Vintage Fair Group and the Love Brocante Group on Facebook but would you believe it, both requests have yet to be granted after waiting for almost two week!! I wonder why?

It's clear that Firle Vintage Fair/Love Brocante/Nigel have/has gone to ground (or maybe on a nice holiday using the money they should morally and legally have refunded to those to whom they promised to do so)

I will continue to be a thorn in their side by keeping up with the email, web site messages, Facebook messages and calls, but like you, I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe we should turn up at next year's event (if there is one) with this year's tickets and demand entry.

All in all, a very sordid affair.

I bought 2 tickets online for Firle Vintage Fair on 10 August 2019 for a total of £22.50. Ten minutes later they put a notice on the website to say that the show was cancelled due to the weather. I emailed and rang straight away asking for a refund. No response. I emailed and rang again and this time has a lady who phoned me back and assured me I would have a refund at the end of the week. No refund was received. I then had a response to my email from Nigel on 22 August offering me free tickets for next year or a refund. I asked for the refund and was informed by Nigel that my email would be processed as soon as possible, but I should allow 2 weeks due to the high number of transactions. No refund was received. I emailed again on 5, 13, 22 September to which I’ve had no response at all and no refund to date. I’ve emailed again today but won’t be holding my breath. Very, very disappointed!!

I'm leaving this review as I'm still waiting for a refund and receiving no replies from emails! Paid for two tickets online (£22.50) but couldn't print off the tickets even though I pressed the button for queries at the time. By Sunday morning the payment hadn't been debited from my bank account so I went along and paid £30 cash on the gate (no tickets issued, just a hand stamp). Then Monday (12th August) my bank account showed the payment! Wish I hadn't bothered, was like a glorified Boot Fair.

I understand why they had to cancel this due to adverse weather and up to now I have had an element of understanding.. However I have so far not had any luck in trying to secure a refund so I have had to a raise a case with Trading Standards.

When the event on Saturday was cancelled
I was offered tickets for Sunday - no good I have tickets to fly home to Scotland on Sunday
I was offered tickets for 2020 - because of the way 2019 has been handled, I dont want tickets for 2020
I was offered a refund - STILL NOT SIGN OF IT

They have removed the phone number from the FB page and are not replying to any emails

Such as shame as this event has been excellent in the past but their contingency planning for this type of incident is clearly lacking.

So I reckon I have seen the back of my £22.50 (which they have had since 27/7/19) and my only hope now is if Trading Standards can help me out

Loving all things vintage, I paid £300 for a 2 day pitch and tent hire at Firle Vintage Fayre. Sadly the experience was terrible. Communication was great until I paid my invoices then all questions were ignored. Although the weather forecast was warning of high winds, the organisers chose not to cancel the event. I turned up at 7am on Saturday 10th to carnage. The tent I hired had blown away as had many others. Ironically the organisers had emailed traders on the Wed evening advising of strong winds and telling those who were using their own tents to ensure they had extra pegs to secure them or they would not be allowed on site. It would seem the majority of the tents that blew away were rented ones!

At 4pm on the Saturday we were allowed on site and my stock lay exposed to the elements so it had to be covered with tarpaulin and left overnight as no replacement tent was offered. I could not move it as the van I had hired was full of stock as I had been due to sell for two days. The fayre did go ahead on the Sunday and it was an ok day.
However; since then I have emailed the organisers several times asking for a refund for the tent hire and have had no response.I am not a business and was doing this for fun and experience. The experience was awful and not fun.

Of course the organisers have no control over the weather, but they chose to go ahead with the fayre when all other events were cancelled. They hired out tents that they did not secure well enough and have offered no refunds or indeed responded to any requests to do so. I want to make others aware of this as many traders were upset about the organisers lack of correspondence and their take your money and disappear attitude.

Went to see the Chap Olympiad, jolly event, a bit like a big country fete with a flea market, food, entertainment, lots of dogs and beer in a nice backdrop. An economical alternative to the bigger vintage/retro events.

Second time of attending the Firle vintage fair, not a good experience this time. Many stallholders were selling new, cheap, shapeless linen 'clothes'. The vintage homeware was on the whole was new stuff 'shabby chiced'. The food vans were awful, I am a vegetarian and it was very difficult for me to get something to eat and there was not enough seating at the venue so having got my chips (the only thing that I vaguely fancied) there was nowhere to sit, the, shall we say, larger visitors were nabbing the seats and not getting out of them, a disappointing time, and it cost £15 per son to get in!!

Was looking forward to this, but as I drove in, I thought, is that it? Well, let's give it a decent chance, even at £15. Yes, lots of classic cars (although very few vintage, most late 60s/70s). Lots and lots of places to spend money. I think if I'd spent half an hour on eBay I could have seen similar stuff for much less. I object to paying to buy stuff. You don't pay to go round b&q for example. Really disappointed as the music didn't start on the stage till nearly 12 and that was pretty much your lot free for the money spent. A random area of vintage vehicles miles down the field and more stalls, some selling new Chinese import vintage. The site security seemed disinterested, cars backing up on the road as they parked cars one by one. I felt sorry for a chap walking in when the security guard in black at the gate put his hands on him to guide him. All in all a very average car boot sale mixed with trade stands. This could have offered so much more, larger live music stage, vintage games. I think you are unclear on your theme (Thai food is not vintage for example) and need to make more of the amazing site. Why not have a some croquet sets out, crazy golf and make it into a vintage festival.

I am a regular to events at Firle particularly the garden show but this so called vintage fair was a total rip off. With the exception of a few vintage cars the majority of the stalls were effectively second hand clothes and bric a brac .
My husband and I paid £30 to get in and left a little later as there was nothing vintage to see in fact many of the garden stalls were the same as for the garden show (nothing vintage there). This was a complete misadvertising and blatantly set out to swindle the public disgusting.
I will no longer consider visiting Firle for any of their events
