This is a quick tour that is worth stopping to see. Some of the pictures are fascinating, they even include an iron lung and first ambulance type stuff.

Stopped in when we had an afternoon to fill. Was surprised at the cost of admission $6 for adults, Kids $3. The building is small but has a lot of information inside. The memorial is very nice listing all of the known deaths of Nebraska Firefighters. If you like Nebraska history or firefighter history this may be a stop for... More

This is an great museum and should not be missed for those with children. If one child can learn what to do in a fire emergency to help save the lives of themselves or their family it is worth the drive to see this outstanding museum. Not mentioned in this listing is the fact that north of the building (out... More

We found the Memorial outback to be more interesting than the Museum. It is near the Archway and easily accessible off I-80. The exhibits are ever-changing. The Museum has a wonderful educational component, good for all ages. If you're a firefighter or have an interest in firefighting, this is a must-see.

This is a nice tribute to the firefighters that have put in time of service in Nebraska. A bit of Nebraska firefighter history all ran by volunteers. They change things in the exhibit so it isn't always the same exhibit. It is a little hard to find, but we went right after seeing the archway.

Go back in time.Stroll around and see all the equipment firefighters used in the early days. Not your "Disneyland" or ^Hershey Park"..but the kids will be amazed and ask lots of questions. Get off the highway and relax with family. We enjoyed it and learned some interesting facts.

My husband is a firefighter and we stayed in Kearney an extra 3 hours just so we could visit this museum. Supposed to open at 10:00. We left at 10:20 with no one ever having shown up. Very unprofessional.

We were very glad we stopped. There is something for the whole family. The adults were busy with the history while the kids were kept busy in the education area of it.
