My wife and I stopped here enroute between La Plata MO and Denver CO… What a spectacular view and opportunity! The staff at the Tower were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Bring a pair of binoculars to get a better view of the yard!!More

For $7 each, you get to go up seven or eight floors, read a few signs about the railroad history of the area and exit through the gift shop. Building this think couldn't have cost much, so to me it should cost $1 a person....More

The view from the top of our tower is amazing, however railroads are not fascinating to everyone and we understand that. As a private non-profit organization we rely on admission to keep our doors open. Thank you for your feedback, we truly appreciate it.

There is usually action going on all day long. There is a shift change at 3:00 pm and things typically stop and don't pick back up until about 4:00 pm. It is hard to say the very best time because it really depends on yard... More

The closest ice rink is in Kearney NE, 90 miles east of North Platte.
