We loved going to 'the lake' and camping/boating/skiing throughout the summer. It's an irrigation lake so the later during the summer, the lower the water level. I was pleased to find out they'd updated/restored the Lake Minatare 'mock' lighthouse, one of only seven inland lighthouses...More

we live near Lake Minatare but still choose to go camping there frequently. There are a lot of cement camping pads with electric hookups, some are reservable, some are first come first serve.

This lake is out a bit from town, though well worth the short drive. It is like a world of it's own. Trees, shore and scenic drive. Great fishing, boating and camping.

We have never stayed here but our kids have. We had a good time watching others play and relax by the lake.

After you've seen Scotts Bluff Monument and the North Platte River, be sure to visit Lake Minatare. You will need to buy a park pass. This lovely large lake is about 20 minutes from Scottsbluff. Divided by a peninsula, you can view the entire lake...More

In my 50s now but have been swinging out of these trees since I was a little kid! Lake Minatare and the surrounding Platte River Valley are one the more underappreciated outdoor experiences in the West!

We decided to go boating on our trip to Scottsbluff and had a great time. Lots of people were tubing, fishing, water skiing and jet skiing on the lake. After we did a bit of tubing, we decided to troll in and fish along the...More
