Small town . Nice shops and antiques. The old fort Sidney has a surprisingly good museum. Volunteer docents were friendly and informative. Check out the historical signs in Hickory Square, on 10th Street
Find out why Sidney Nebraska is called the Golden Link because something happened there in 1974. Read the posted historical signs. Stop in a few shops for home decor items. Have a beer and pizza nearby. Laid back is too strong a word.
Not much to Sidney . Just a few stores and restaurants .One Walmart that didn't have any I was looking for ( and that never hàppens) and a gro ery store. Nothing seemed historic about it,so don't drive a ways to see it .
Sidney appears to be a very successful town. The downtown stores are all filled and the place is very clean. We were through on a Sunday and driving throughout the area everything looked as if life is good. Cabela's Corp. offices sure help the area...More
enjoyed just wondering through the little gift shops and antique stores -- don't expect anything large and "showy". Nice little walk and shopping! Took me back to the "good old days" -- and we will forever remember seeing the smallest office ever -- my closet...More
The buildings are old but it does not seem to be an old historic down town as you would expect from the signs. I was not that impressed with the historic aspect. I think the advertising signs to this town hype it up a little...More
