We did what we do on most of our trips to a new place; we stopped in at the Visitor's Center to learn of the area and its attractions. The bad news was most things were closed that day because it was a Monday. The good news was, the young man at the Visitor's Center saved us a lot of... More

We stopped here to get some info about Carson City. We met a very nice lady who was super knowledgeable not to mention super friendly! She recommended a self-guided walking tour of the historic Carson City, of which she provided us a map. We were also offered coffee/tea. Lots to do in the area. She also recommended we go to... We have used Reno, NV for a little RR on the National Parks trip twice now. Both times staying at the Victorian Inn in Sparks and dining at the Atlantis oyster & sushi bar. So a side trip to Carson City was in order. The docent was extremely helpful with information on Carson City, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City. We... More

The volunteer who helped us was excellent! This is where we learned about the walking tour and I even got a cup of green tea to take with me on my walk. They have plenty of information about their town and everyone should stop here while in Carson City.

Best kept secret in northern Nevada. Inter-city transport between Reno, Tahoe and Carson City and so. valleys. Inexpensive, reliable and great way to travel without a car. 6 trips daily to and from Reno..AM-PM. Take the shuttles to Tahoe, and around Carson City. Very well organized shuttle system allows daily or overnite trips to Lake Tahoe area, etc. I went... More

Great place to get information from the friendly staff. Got our Loneliest Road kit for our drive on Highway 50. It made us stop in the little towns on the way east which was great.

When we first walked in I wasn't sure if we were in the right place. The office looked more like a retail store than a visitors center. We were met by one of the staff and he gave us a wealth of information to where to go and what to do. We found the biggest problem was that there is... More

I stopped in to get some information about the historic neighborhood in Carson City. The super friendly and knowledgeable lady working here took the time to answer all of my questions, gave me plenty of pamphlets and suggested several sights in/around the area. One of the items she gave me was a self-guided walking tour map of the historic residential... More
