Our visit provided us with an informative history of the building and of the general history of Nevada and Carson City. Interesting architecture with descriptions of additions after the original construction. A nice museum on the second floor, and a war memorial area in the rear of the building.

We were driving from the Reno airport to Lake Tahoe. Saw the capital in the distance and got off to go have a look. We really enjoyed walking down the city street and seeing the buildings. There is a beautiful park like setting with trees and flowers and it's really quite beautiful. We did not take a tour but on... More

The Nevada State Capitol has an excellent small museum on the second floor. The walk up the stairs to the museum takes you through some wonderful history - and the museum is the frosting on the cake. It's only open during regular m-f business hours. But you can visit the museum, and then if you'd like eat a small picnic... More

There were a few rooms brought back to original splendor of 1870-71 when it was built. State Trooper was very helpful and prepared the Capitol Collection Passport stamp for us while we were touring. Secretary of State's assistant allowed us in to see old vault doors behind which many of the state's documents had been stored. Beautiful building and great... More

We enjoyed our tour of the capitol. We called in advance to book a time. We arrived early and our guide (Dan Neverette) was ready to take us. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot.

What a beautiful building! The officer at the front desk encouraged us to tour the Capitol Building and recommended we view the Supreme Court office on the second floor. While walking through the Capitol, we noticed a guide leading a tour. We joined his tour and learned interesting information about Sara Winnemucca, Nevada governors, etc.

I called to find out about tours at the Nevada State Museum as we had a limited amount of time in Carson City and also wanted to see the Capitol. The woman I spoke with was incredibly friendly and arranged a tour for my husband and I for both the Museum and the Capitol. Our guide was Sam and he... More

This was the surprise hit of our trip to Nevada. We stopped by with our kids and they totally loved the place. There is a small museum on the second floor which was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids. The officer at the reception desk was very nice and told us of all the interesting things we could enjoy. We even... More
