Gold Point is located in the middle of nowhere. The entire population, according to a sign, is 27. That's twenty-seven. There is no restaurant or stores. What does pass as the latter was closed. The town itself is rundown, but if you're into photography this...More

I was out gold prospecting near China Wash and drove through in mid day. Area research indicated about 20 people live here. Very interesting old town with lots of old buildings and equipment the locals have maintained. Everything is prominently marked No Trespassing or Private....More

What a grand place this must have been! It's a cool place to walk around with lots of great photo ops. This is the West, watch for rattlesnakes (they would rather slither away than bite you).

Gold Point was recommended to us by some folks in nearby Goldfield. It is about 25 miles south of Goldfield off the highway across a dirt road. Several old buildings and vehicles near an old gold mine. There are only a couple of residents in...More

Interesting place, with a lot of old machinery, cars, small houses and such. A lot of mine entrances still exists. This would be a great place to explore more.

I went there with a "Meetup" group. However, there were other groups there, who just sat around and got drunk, disturbing everyone. The bar (the only real entertainment there) continued to serve the drunks, well past their limit. So, the inevitable happened; the drunks went...More

My husband and I managed to find Gold Point coming in the back way from Bonnie Clare Mill, passing Hard Luck Castle. It is quite a drive this way, but we were treated to the most spectacular cholla cactus blooms we have ever seen! We...More

The saloon is open for special events. I'm sure kids and probably pets would be allowed in it. Check with the host for saloon hours.
