Our local treasure

If you have not seen Macavoy Laine as Mark twain you have missed a great show. He brings the author to life with some fun stories and tales with a local and timely twist.

We have been here several times for Mark Twain performances, every one different and each one magical. Bring your own dinner and libations and a few friends for great entertainment by a national treasure by the name of McAvoy Layne. He travels all over the US and internationally with his Twain repertoire, and thankfully calls Tahoe home so we can... More

We stumbled upon this theatre/cultural centre quite by accident and ventured in to be met by a very enthusiastic proprietor who looked just like Mark Twain. We learnt a great deal by talking to him and he invited us to come back to the evening's performance of the history of Nevada. If only we had had the time!!!! It has... More

Mark Twain came alive once more. I believe the Mark Twain Cultural Center is no more, but the man who does the impersonation, did a special show, which was funny, creative and entertaining. You could bring your own food to dine at tables before the show. Event was a sell out.

This is a lovely place to drop by for a spot of Sunday brunch. The crab and filet mignon omelet was just wonderful, the open air, the music in the background and the reasonable prices make this a really pleasant place to lunch Sunday or any other day.

We went to see the Mark Twain impersonator (we have seen others do this) and it was a wonderul evening. We were invited to bring food and drink-so we took a bottle of wine, some cheese and crackers and settled back at our table to enjoy the show. The actor was very knowledable beyond the performance as he invited the... More
