This is must do! Take a break from the strip and enjoy the other side of Las Vegas. It is @ 45 minutes away. Definitely worth the trip.

The 13 mile scenic Drive is a great way to see all the red rocks. It is amazing how they change depending on the time of day. There are great hiking trails throughout the scenic drive the Senate drive itself is a 13 mile one-way loop. Red rock canyon is not far from the strip well worth the drive.

My son and I came here for a couple of hours to get away from the hustle & bustle of Vegas. It's about a 30 minute drive to get here from the Strip. If it's not a busy day, you can just drive up and pay at the entrance, but it's way better to make reservations online ahead of time to guarantee a specific 1-hour time range for showing up & entering.

We had a blast hiking and scrambling over the rocks.

This is a beautiful drive. We arranged for a car service to take us on the scenic loop drive. From the Las Vegas strip, it is about a 30 minute drive to the entrance.

This is a fee area and although we didn't have reservations, its the preferred way to enter the park quickly.

The drive itself is one-way and has many pull-outs/parking areas, each with a primitive restroom facility.

From the pull-out/parking areas, there are ample walking trails to enjoy the beautiful area by foot.

We did see a small herd of wild burros walking along the roadway , which was a special treat!

Nice view of the different colored rocks. We hiked the red springs and the petroglyph trails. Both pretty short hikes. The petroglyphs were easy to see and interesting, and there are also petroglyphs on the red springs trail. Had no trouble making a reservation the night before we visited.

It was so nice to be out of the city and enjoy the Canyon! Make sure to get a reservation before driving out there.

This awesome little canyon about 30mins drive from the ‘Strip’ is ideal for a bit of hiking or just a scenic drive around the canyon. There’s fee to enter the park, $15 I think, but it’s totally worth it, especially if you have an interest in the geology of earth and it’s history. Or simply even if you like the great outdoors, this is the place for you!

My sister was married at Red Rock and it was a beautiful experience. Hiking may not be high on your list of priorities while in Vegas, but this natural wonder is worth visiting.

If you are in the Las Vegas area and are a fan of the outdoors, you must stop here. We were only able to do a couple of the smaller hikes, but the landscape was amazing. The colors and views were breathtaking. The one way road is well paved and easy to traverse with plenty of stopping points. Check it out!

The rocks are stunning and the desert landscape both beautiful and haunting. It looks like another planet at times but watch out for hazards. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
