We visited here on a Friday morning with family. The ranch is located next to Red Rocks Canyon, is easy to access and has ample parking. There are several hiking trails with very nice desert scenery. The ranch house has some interesting history - owned by Howard Hughes and others. There is a nice picnic area and charcoal grills available.... More

This beautiful state park is very close to red rock canyon but much less crowded. It has beautiful views with hikes of varying difficulty and lengths to satisfy all abilities. There are lots of picnic tables and charcoal grills available so that you can enjoy a family day there.

Came upon this by accident after visiting Red Rock Canyon. What a beautiful site with spectacular views of the mountains. There is history in this park so worth it to go to the ranch house for the short tour to get a flavor of how the land has evolved. We had a great tour guide. The tour is short 10-15... More

We enjoyed this park immensely. Cost is $7 for the day. Walked 3 plus miles on well planned trails! Easy walking & a lot to see. Went at about 10 in the morning. Cool weather so comfortable walking . Visited the main ranch house & had a great tour guide through the house. The guide was very well informed on... More

I absolutely love this state park. It's so peaceful, and the scenery is out of this world. There a few hiking trails and also a few cows!! I just love spending the afternoon here with a picnic.

The lady working the gate taking payments started the whole experience off on the wrong foot. She was moody and looked like she did not want to be there. She didn't even warn us that any trails close 1 hour before the park does. We got there at 3PM which meant a half hour later all the trail gates are... More

The ranch is just outside the city on Red Rock Canyon Rd. (NV159) but it's a great change of pace from the urban rat race. It's only 2-3 miles south of Red Rock Canyon, and we visited them both in the same day. Spring Mountain Park preserves the historic Sandstone Ranch property (established 1876). Before being purchased by Nevada State... More

This park caught my eye as it was away from the strip, and had some historical value to it. Here you will find the ranch house and land along with exhibits describing the history of its owners. From white settlers and their Native American spouse, to movie stars and millionaires. You can get a short guided tour of the rooms... More

I was very disappointed that it costs the same amount to go here as it does Valley of Fire State Park and there is very little to do. There is a short walk, a house that was closed even though the sign said open until we tried to open the door, it was locked so we walked around the back... More
