We went here and to the Springs Preserve, one in the same really, and found both to be just okay. The museum as pretty standard stuff. A few interesting displays and lots of stuff in glass cases. We both enjoy the museum in Carson City a lot more. The mammoth and Ichthyosaur we impressive. Much of the rest was just... More

We've been going to Vegas regularly for the past 10 years, and this was not only the first time we visited the Museum, it was the first we had heard of it. It's set in the Springs Preserve, a destination in itself. We went for the Folies Bergere exhibit, which was interesting and stumbled on the Branding Las Vegas exhibit.... More

We decided to get some culture on this trip to Vegas so we went to this Museum. It was 116 outside that day, so the museum was a nice escape from heat and casinos. It's not a huge museum, but can take 2-3 hours to see all of it. On display is a ton of local natural and human history... More

Hidden gem in LV! Including the State museum. Excellent views of Vegas skyline! A welcome break from the Strip!

Both layout of this museum and the lighting were frustrating. It's not laid out as a logical progression, and easy to miss some exhibits. The lighting was either too little or too much and the bounce off the glass made displays hard to read. I think kids would really like it, but as an adult I found it frustrating. I'm... More

I was fortunate to go on a curator tour of the "basement" of this museum. I was impressed with their capabilities to build exhibits and amazed at their treasures not on display and how they are cared for. Upstairs, I found the exhibits to be fascinating and well-done with cool tech effects to enhance the experience. Definitely worth the trip!

If you have an interest in anything other than gambling, you must visit this gem. The whole place is several things rolled into one with one admission price. The first noticeable thing is how friendly the staff are. It creates a very welcoming environment. The museum is a fantastic blend of natural history ( fossils, wildlife), history (the development of... More

I really enjoyed this museum-they've got a lot of information, but it's well laid-out, so you can get a broad understanding of Nevada, or you can get a lot of information about a particular section if you want too. It's got good displays for adults and plenty of interactive things for kids too. It's part of the Springs Preserve, so... More

We loved the place! Lots of interactive exhibits make this an interesting and fun place for kids as well as grown-ups. Check their schedule before you go so you can plan for the different activities and events they may be offering. They do lots of crafts with kids and you wouldn’t want to miss out on them.

We had some free time in Vegas, and since we had been to the city several times, we decided to check something new, and this was a great surprise. There's a very beautiful outdoor area, with beautiful gardening, and beautiful desert flowers! The visit has several different exhibits, but the best for me was the Las Vegas Historical Society, where... More
