Great area for young and older. This is a kid friendly area. Less boat traffic and more beach area. Close to everything yet away from the fast pace. The water is warmer and the area is well maintained.

We rolled in just after New Years. The campground was clean and very well maintained. The sites are large and afford some privacy between sites. Hookups are in great shape. There is very little traffic noise, and very little campground traffic, as the campsites are isolated from the flow of traffic from the day use area. The hiking trails are... More

Really huge sites (both back-in and pull-through) are gravel but nice and level. (Handicapped spots are concrete.) Clean bathrooms. Full hookups. Large maze of sandy walking trails within the park and more rugged hikes in the hills to the west. There is a day use area right on the river with many picnic tables and shade structures; nice beach for... More

We camped for 4 nights. Full hookups. Near the river but you still need to drive. Very nice and helpful camp host. As expected it was a bit loud on Friday night. Beach was nice. Was very windy so only were able to go to the river one day. Flush toilets and pay showers. I think the shower was a... More

Reasonable price to get in for a picnic or to launch your boat. picnic tables and shade right on the river. Beach is sandy. Not very much shade. good benefit is the river is now very busy this far down from laughlin.

This is one of my favorite spots to launch my boat. Plenty of parking, nice but narrow launch ramp. Sandy beaches all around to park your boat. Usually not too crowded but weekends in the summer can get busy.

We made the right choice! We stopped at a gas station; bought a noodle and entered the Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area on Needles Hwy in Laughlin. There's an entry fee per person, a place to change into your swimsuit. You can bring your lunch. The River was so nice and cool. We spent at least 3... More

The air is hot and the water is cold - a refreshing retreat coming from Las Vegas. If you are several days vacationing in LV and you are looking for some refreshment you can drive about 1 1/2 hours to Laughlin and enjoy this area. The views remind you more of the Middle East than any place in the US.... More

There are 2 large beaches and a small one in a cove. You can park your jet sky or dive in for a small fee. Soft beach, covered patio and picnic tables.

When staying in Laughlin in the warmer months, definitely visit Big Bend of The Colorado State Park. The river there meets pristine beaches with calm, crystal clear water for swimming. There is also a lagoon with a boat launch and clean restrooms near by with flush toilets. The tree's and bushes that line the beaches at Big Bend are cut and... More
