The ranch, ranch house and tour (reservations usually required) are great. The various music, Chitaqua and historical programs are WONDERFUL, free or inexpensive, with a great tent-on-the-lawn location. The Curator and all the volunteers work hard to make the ranch and its programs a great local venue.

We visited the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park. Its a working cattle ranch currently managed by Park Cattle Company, There is a historic home and barn. There is also a stone cellar built in 1870 and a laundry house built in 1906. Heinrich Friedrich Dangberg and four generations of Dangbergs lived here At one point, their cattle ranch was 50,000... This was an unexpected highlight of our recent tour of the Bay Area. We arranged our tour in advance and found it after a short drive from South Lake Tahoe. The Dangberg Ranch is an incredibly well-preserved time capsule of Nevada ranching history from the 1850s to the 1990s. When the last family member died in the 1990s, the ranch... More

We had an excellent tour of the Ranch with Mark. It was fun to explore the early days of a wealthy family in the Carson Valley. The home contains all original items from the family and is uniquely displayed. What a treasure!

We were visiting in the area and went to the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park for a Kite Festival. More interesting than the kites -- which were quite colorful -- was speaking with the docents and members of the Park's board who had such interesting knowledge of the Ranch, of the area, and of the Dangberg family. We will want... More

Enjoyed our visit to the Dangberg Home Ranch park. It gives a glimpse into how the early settlers lived.

After two event and currently buying tickets for a third tonight, I can say this venue the Dangberg Home Ranch provides great entertainment and awesome environment. Twice the stage has been graced by lovely ladies in period costuming portraying historical figures. The last presentation a cowboy on horseback rode past within view. The Sierra Nevada mountain range provides a backstop... More

We couldn't find much info on this place, but it had been recommended. Got there Friday am and found out you must have reservations to see the place, but we were invited to walk around and see the grass, and one outer building that had been like a root cellar. Interesting there but not much to see. There were only... More

We attended a Twilight Concert. Performer was Milton Merlos. The flamingo guitar music was fabulous. Cost $5 per person. Bring your own chairs. Can bring your own food and drink, but food is available. Allow enough time to drive in on a dirt road, well worth it. Concert is outside under a tent, allows you to watch the sun go... More

Unlike other historical attractions in the area which attempt to tell the story with incomplete collections of artifacts related to the history, the Dangberg family turned over an intact house complete with all belongings, photographs, letters and documents. This allows the curator to create seasonal displays with the actual clothes, furnishings, and household objects that are shown in family photographs... More
