Having minimal knowledge of Scottish history prior to visiting this battlefield, I found the entire experience incredibly informative and clarifying. The center itself has numerous, well-written displays as well as a vast number of audio performances that create an immersive experience you don't often find...More

The visitor center is excellent, with fixed and live exhibits. Then you can wander the battlefield itself.

The new(ish) visitor centre is fantastic and gives you a great idea of the lead up to the battle and is very even-handed within information from both "sides". The immersive battle film is actually quite brutal and I am glad that my girls missed it...More

Wow, this battlefield is absolutely amazing. It really gives you the perspective of what happened and one can only imagine the horrors that happened here. The moor is so wide open and flat. The memorial with the clan stones is very moving and when I...More

The visitor centre was well done and there was plenty of info. The battlefield is able to be walked on which was nice. The rocks with the names of the clans on them was good too. A very emotional place and somewhat eerie.

The visitor center is very through in presenting what happened here. The visual presentation was informative and desperately sad in showing how many men died here.

Very moving visit to this battlefield where the second Jacobite uprising ended. The bare windswept moor is just as it would have been in 1746. It only struck me that this is also a war grave where around 1500 soldiers loyal to Prince Charles Edward...More

My friend and I took the bus out to here from Inverness. It's been a place I've always wanted to see and I'm glad we went out. I love Scottish history! The center was wonderful and going out onto the battlefield was very nice! Steeped...More

This was our second visit to the new visitor centre, and while the interactive exhibits were still impressive, we were disappointed that the personal information headphones to take out to the battlefield were no longer available. Also, the paths were untreated and treacherous. We appreciate...More

Battlefield site is quite well done. Really enjoyed the centre and all the history it displays. Enjoyed the walk around the battlefield. Definitely worth the trip.

Easily 3 hours. It was cold and snowing outside so I could have spent longer but came in out of the cold to read some more inside

No. The ticket you buy at the visitor center is for admission to that facility and the battlefield. We had a car so we drove. Ask your hotel. Have you tried Uber?
