Neither my wife or myself are experienced riders. We were lucky to have a wonderful guide named Zack, who made it easy for us. He seems to know everything there is to know about riding as his day job is as a rancher. We loved hearing his discussion about the personalities of the various horses. We also really liked hearing... More

It was my daughter's first time on a horse, and I can tell you it's not going to be her last! The tour guide was a woman who goes by the name of Tucker, and she has been working these stables up here in Nevada since she was 13 years old! She is an awesome person to hit the trails... More

My 14 year old son, husband, and I went to this place to try to ride a horse. Upon arrival, we see a group of 3 coming down a hill pretty fast. All of a sudden, the first horse started sprinting. The second horse came to an abrupt stop. The third horse was running and bucking, with a girl about... More

Me and my family went to horse back ride today and it was great! Very soothing and nice to see the forest/mountain scenery while riding. Also, you get to admire the horses. Prices were fairly inexpensive as well, $45 for each per hour! We had Tucker as a tour guide, and she was VERY nice, cooperative, and informative. Take a... More

I have been a life long horse lover and love to ride. Each year when we come to Lake Tahoe, I have wanted to go horseback riding, but didn't because my husband doesn't ride. We visit Lake Tahoe every year for our anniversary, and this year, he suggested we both go horseback riding. I was so pleased and excited that... More

On the morning we wanted to go horseback riding at Zephyr Cove, we called to make a reservation for 4 people at 3:30. We asked on the phone if we could add more people to our party once we found out if more of our family could go and they told us yes, and to call back with that information... More

Perfect introduction for my 13 year old son who has never ridden before and wasn't that keen, it won't have put him off. Horses were well mannered well kept and in great condition. We were lucky to go out on a private hack just our family for one hour easy trail walking up and down dusty hill tracks with a... More

If you’ve ever dreamt of riding the Ponderosa Ranch along with Little Joe, Hoss, and Adam, just imagine an hour or two of solace, riding in the tall pines of the Sierra Nevada with a very cool local guide. It doesn’t get any better than that!

We ended up having a private ride with our guide Tucker! She was great we felt like we were ridding with a friend. The trail ride to the top view was magical!! You won't be disappointed. This was our visit to Lake Tahoe and we couldn't get enough of all the beauty it had to offer.

My husband and I ended up being the only 2 with our guide. It was so quiet and peaceful on the horses. As you get closer to the lake, it is definitely cooler. It rained on us on the way back but that was ok. Easy ride with some slopes and hills. Horses were gentle and sweet.
