The Brick Store has been in business since at least 1790, making it America's oldest continuously operated general store. It is located in Bath, New Hampshire -- a quintessential New England village including the town common with war memorial, the picturesque white steepled church, and three historic covered bridges. As a true general store, The Brick Store offers a little bit of everything including Nancy's delicious homemade fudge, and their nationally famous Jim's Smokehouse products.

This is one of the oldest country stores in the country. It has recently undergone a two year renovation and is under new management. There are many very old photographs and original artifacts in the store. Their home made fudge is outstanding and their sandwiches...More

I'd been here a few times before it was auctioned off a year ago. The new owners haven't hurt it any. It's a typical New England general store, albeit the most historic one. It's more of a tourist attraction, like a lot of NE general...More

Stopped here on our way to Littleton as we heard it was worth a visit. Except for its age and history, I wasn't that impressed as I didn't find it curious or anyway unique that warranted a stop. Actually found the covered bridge out back...More

We were really excited to see that the store and the ice cream shop had re-opened in July. The staff were really welcoming and helpful, with the exception of a young lady who couldn't answer our question then didn't follow up with anyone. The fudge...More

This is the oldest General Store still in operation in the US. It dates to the 1700's. Small deli counter, gift shop and groceries. Next door is an ice cream parlor. The Veterans Memorial in the square memorializes those who served in all wars starting...More

Sub roll or bulky roll delicious thick sandwiches and their own old fashioned root beer. Grab their homemade fudge for dessert. Take a chunk of smoked cheese or smoked pepperoni done right there at the store. The oldest operating general store for a reason
