we did not get to go to top because of high winds so we had option to go 3/4 of the way we had the opportunity to go on the coal fired train and that was realistic to the era ,it was a little foggy...More

Well, I can't say anything about the views because visibility was nearly zero, but the ride up itself was nice enough. The guides up and down were great; it was the happy medium of informative narration without endless yapping.

We took the Steam Engine. The trip was great. We timed it perfect (the weather was totally clear). The leaves were starting to turn color. The views from the top were outstanding.

There is choice of one-way or round trip. Many people hike one way and ride back the other.
