Gilman Park is in a residential neighborhood. The park was larger than it appeared to be from the street because there was a trail off in the woods in the back.

The trail went along the Little River to the point where it merged with the Exeter River.

At a bend in the Little River near the road, there were about three dozen migrating ducks swimming and floating around. During my visit, some petty squabbles over space developed. I think they were expecting me to start feeding them with stale bread. They were all jockeying for position. I disappointed them. That’s not good for them.

I enjoyed my visit. Although the trail was short, it was a quiet place to walk in the woods. The ducks provided some entertainment. For all those things, I rate Gilman ark at 4.25 and can recommend a visit.

Back on Bell Avenue, look for the elephant sculpture holding a mailbox.

The reason for the delay in submitting this review was due to a months-long loss of my ability to post photos with my reviews.

Great place to bring a dog and go for a swim, and few folks will be there! Look carefully for the sign on the road as it is easy to miss.

This is more of a gateway into the Phillips Exeter Woods, there is a ball field and a cannon here but not much else. Can launch a canoe, kayak or paddle board here to go up the river, slow moving current most of the year. Some opportunity for fall foliage shots but not really a place to visit as a tourist in town.

This is a tiny park but a good destination to perhaps rest after a bike ride or toss a ball around. There is a cannon in the middle of it and the Exeter river abuts it.

This is a wonderful park to visit. Very serene. I enjoyed watching the rowers out from Exeter Academy. There are benches to sit on and birds to watch. The walkway is nice and this is a great place in the fall with many sugar maples and their beautiful leaves.

Easy in and park right at launch. One way goes to Exeter, the other way is well forested slow moving river. Total flat water paddle. A nice surprise right near downtown Exeter . Quiet and peaceful .

The basketball court, which sees little use, will likely be removed.
Two cannon along edge of the Little River commemorate Exeter's role in the Revolutionary war.

I launch my kayak here. Easy parking near the boat launch. I love meandering around the Exeter River. Sometimes, I don't see another boater. Nice trails along the river too, which we take the dog walking on. Wonderful resource.

It is nothing fantastic but it is pleasant. There is water, short wooded trails, bridges, benches, ample parking, basketball courts, athletic fields. It is on the backside of Phillips Exeter Academy's Athletic fields. The signs and entrance are slightly lacking and the overall size is small but it is still nice. Lot of dog walkers enjoying it.
There is also a small skatepark out closer to the main road and entrance.
