The Hood is to the left and behind the Hopkins Centre for the Arts. Put aside a leisurely hour - or two - they have some fine and fascinating pieces all beautifully displayed and illuminated. Each piece has a well written information card beside it.

This is a nice small museum with a nice variety of collections. It is currently closed for a $50 million renovation and expansion until winter 2019. According to 'the Dartmouth' 'planned changes include expanded gallery space and teaching facilities, a new multi-purpose event space and a new white and beige brick façade for the building. ' In downtown hanover, where... More

Have loved the Hood Museum of Art from its early beginning and special exhibitions on diverse topics, such as The Age of the Marvelous, Native American Art at Dartmouth, and Crossing Cultures, depicting Australian Aborigine Art from the Owen and Wagner Collection. Permanent art usually on display includes fine examples of Assyrian, Greek, Egyptian, and Persian art, as well as... More

The Hood has an unusual collection of old and relatively new art works. The staff are actively engaged in teaching missions with the Dartmouth student community which provides interesting opportunities for the casual visitor. Make your visit soon as much of the museum will be closing shortly as part of a 2-3 year expansion construction program.

This is a great little art museum in downtown hanover. We visited expecting a mediocre art exhibit and we found a very pleasant surprise in the form of a great collection.

This Hood is a very nice museum for its size and location. We always stop in whenever we are in town to see what the current exhibits are. It is worth an hour or so to wander around.

The Hood Museum of Art is located on the campus of Dartmouth College. We saw several undergraduate groups in different locations in the museum. A good mix of art styles and changing exhibits. Do not miss the Assyrian carvings, absolutely spectacular!!

A little gem right in ther heart of Dartmouth College, this museum has a small, but interesting collection. And on top of it, it is welcoming and free of charge. Worth a visit.

You would say a small museum but it is actually big, huge for a such small but prestigious Ivy League. From ancient art, over Eskimo's people art to contemporary art pieces. If at Dartmouth must visit. :)
