Great campground! Make sure you reserve a spot by the lake as it nice to be able to go kayaking or other water sports without lugging stuff to a boat landing or beach. Best place to buy firewood is the store on the left just...More

Pawtuckaway is a great place for first time young campers. My kids love it here and facilities work well for them. Distance is good for a weekend trip from Boston area. Traffic can make it a longer trip however.

My brother in law drove us in, so I'm not exactly sure how to navigate there. But, we did the tower trail. It's .4 miles up. Short but straight uphill, no breaks. Worth it for the views. Later that day, my sister in law drove...More

We really enjoyed this campground. Most sites were well spaced so you had privacy. Lots of lake front sites to choose from. Multiple hiking trails, kayak and canoe rentals, fishing spots, store, beach for swimming, large modern playground. The bathrooms were cleaner than I expected!...More

Don't let this parks closeness to heavily populated areas and convenience to the highways fool you. It's a beautiful state park and a treasure of the area.

One of our most favorite getaways for fall, winter, spring; avoid summertime, especially weekends as it's way too crowded.

Fact that this park is very near where we live is a bonus. Off season, it is a great place to walk our dog. Lots of trails to explore; good places to fish. Facilities were clean when we last visited. Overall this place deserves numerous...More

Book well in advance. Fishing from campsite....loved that. You can buy bait from the camp store on premises. Some campsites were not level so make sure your car has a great emergency break. Showers were something out of a horror show due to the iron...More

Not sure how remote this is but considering the type of park, it is probably within ear shot of other campers so quiet rules would apply but I am pretty sure that you would be isolated from errant hikers.
