I went with a group from our senior center and loved the trip out to see the Isle of Shoals. Narrative was great, but, like on all diesel boats a little hard to hear. Nevertheless, it got me interested in doing further reading. Crew was professional but friendly. Ship was on time. Toilet facilities on board as well as refreshment counter. LOVED this excursion and highly recommend it.

Took the tour out to Star Island. Left on time and an interesting journey out with the guide giving us lots of information on the area and pointing out al of interest.
Trip back equally as good with commentary.
Food/drink available on board although as you may expect, a little pricey.

We took an incredible tour of Star Island today. The length of the tour was perfect, and the history provided on the boat was very interesting.

I would recommend this tour to couples, families, or anyone who enjoys history and the wonders of New England.

We always love taking the ferry to Star Island for a brief day trip to explore the island and enjoy the breezes from the conference center's porch. The views going back and forth on the ferry are fantastic -- you see part of the NH and Maine coastlines, a few lighthouses, and New Castle's Great Island Common park -- and it's a short and (usually) calm sailing. This last trip we did was wonderful.

I should say right off the bat that my trip was taken before Covid hit, but I haven't had the time to write any reviews until now. I took the afternoon departure trip to the Isles of Shoals, and really enjoyed the experience. The crew of the boat was very professional, the narrator was gracious and knowledgeable. The boat was not by any means new but was in great shape and well-maintained. I liked being able to sit wherever I wanted (no assigned seating), and there was ample seating outside for the lower speed portions of the trip, and inside for when it got a little chilly. If I had a complaint, it would be that there was very little "healthy snackage" on board, so if you have dietary limitations, better bring your own snack. Not a big deal, really. It's a very pleasant way to spend a day and I highly recommend it.

The front desk person at our hotel recommended this trip. We drove down and checked with them on Monday, they had already gone out for the day but the gal was quick to say that they had a trip going out the next day and had space available. We booked at the time. Next day, parked in their lot ($5) and boarded the boat. Not full, several people but didn't seem crowded. Was a very hot day but good breeze out on the water. The guide was very knowledgeable. Stopped at Isle of Shoals for 1 hr, he gave a walking tour of the island/hotel. We did not go ahead with the group on that but several people were talking about it after we got back on the boat and it sounded like it was informative. Snacks, beverages available for purchase on the boat. Ran out of cold water as they hadn't replenished from the day before (not sure why not, temperatures were over 100 degrees. Seems like that should have been the first thing they did the next morning...), but they did give a glass of ice with the water. Trip back was good, got up close to the 2 lighthouses that were there. Would have been nice if they had been able to circle the lights, but they did not. It was not a light house trip... Worth the money.

Beautiful scenery, nicely paced narration. Very pleased with our experience. It was great to see the Shoals without having to disembark. And we saw seals.

We had a great day on the water with the isles of shoals streamship company trip to Star Island. A beautiful day for a boatride. About one hour each way. A knowledgable guide was easily heard on the PA system on the top deck. Lots of interesting facts and stories. An abbreviated tour of the Island due to Covid but still wonderful. The ship was clean. The staff was great. Very glad we did this trip.
The 4 hour tour.

We accidently stumpled upon this cruise. We actually never heard of the Shoals Islands before. And we were like WOW.

This cruise has the iconic New England Scenery, The Lighthouses the colorful houses surrounded by water. We even got to see some porposes . If you want to see iconic New England Photgenic Spots, this is it

We were looking for something unique to do. The internet told us about this excursion from Portsmouth, NH. The day was spectacular with sunny skies, low humidity, mild wind and cool temperatures. Just a spectacular day for a boat ride. For the next 2.5 hours, the Captain told the history of the area with enthusiasm. If anyone has the time and the weather is right, take this trip.
