My wife and I were in Portsmouth, staying at the Ale House Inn and the theater is in the same building. We went on a whim not knowing mush about the show - Rock of Ages. It's a funky theater inside, cozy and the seating is close to the stage. The show was great fun and the cast was wonderful.... More

initially we were put off by many reviews of the steep uneven steps, right seats etc - almost didn't go - we had a GREAT time seeing Rock of Ages and urge anyone thinking of attending a performance to go! Theater seats about 150, the majority of audience was going up and down stairs with no effort. There is an... More

I'm disappointed we only started visiting the Rep this year. We have thoroughly enjoyed each show we've been to. Most recently we saw Rock of Ages. I was overly impressed with the voices of the actors, even though I thought certain aspects were amateurish (ex. The second act felt sloppy, the male ensemble actor was ostentatious, the costumes seemed from... More

Our recent trip to SRT was to see Its A Wonderful Life. We were very pleased with the performance and as always the production company didn't disappoint. It is great to have this available in the local area as you can get some great shows for a great price. The stage and theater are small, but they use every inch... More

My family and I attended "A Wonderful Life." If you are like most people who have seen the movie classic multiple times and consider it a part of your annual Christmas tradition and simply love its innocence and family friendly nature, you will be terribly disappointed with this one. "Its A Wonderful Life" it is not, in any way. The... More

The venue is odd.... you enter the theater and descend several floors into a basement. And the descent is steep!!. This is not a venue for anyone with mobility issues or vertigo. Even for the solid, sure-footed individual, you must be careful to hold onto the railings and watching the uneven stairs. The seating is cramped and leg room is... More

On a lark while visiting Portsmouth, we decided to attend "Reefer Madness," which simplify defies description but was so excellent. The cast put out so much energy and enthusiasm and gave a Broadway-worthy performance. The theater is small and intimate so there is no bad seating. I found the staff to be genuininely appreciative of the sponsors and theater-goers. A... More

Attended "The Marvelous Wonderettes" and was totally entertained by a very talented cast. There was audience participation which added to the experience. Not very good leg room and very steep stairs, however, it is accessible.

I've been here many times. I really like the odd but functional multi-levelness of this 150 ? seat intimate theater. Use stair rails when climbing and descending, because its steep and can be tricky for the senses to navigate. SeaCoast Rep puts on decent theater, which is somewhere between "community quality" and professional. I went into this particular show with... More

The Seacoast Rep offers one of the best theater experiences in Portsmouth. They offer a full range of the stage productions, special events, and children's programs. Recently, having gone through some financial difficulties, the rep is now coming back strong. While the theater itself is smaller than the Palace Theatre in Manchester or the Ogunquit Playhouse in Ogunquit, it is... More
