This park is great in the summer. It has a sandy beach on the harbor side, a rocky beach on the other and a large grass lawn with park benches where you can sit and watch the ocean for hours. We went to watch the HUGH waves crash on the rocks after the winter North Easter pulled out, (Or as... More

Rye Harbor State Park offers some fantastic views. If the day is very clear, you can see the Isle of Shoals perfectly!

We love to visit this park while cruising the coast. It provides good water views and an excellent look at the Isle of Shoals.

Had driven north along Ocean Blvd from Seabrook passing the crowded - even in September - beaches prior to coming upon this quiet haven. It is not as long as the beaches we passed, but there is free parking along the road. A small scramble over the rocks (opposite Ray's Seafood) and you are on the beach. There were no... More

This is a great place to enjoy the outdoors near the ocean away from crowded beaches. There are several benches along the oceanfront near the parking lot and a couple of picnic tables. On my visit, I noticed that some folks had brought a full-sized umbrella which they had opened and set up right beside one of the picnic tables... More

Rye Beach is a wonderful choice for a beach goer who is looking for a more serene experience. There are many places for spreading out blankets and chairs without being crowded and a short walk to the water, which was delightfully warm when we visited. Unlike the commercialization and crowds of Hampton Beach, Rye Beach lends itself to the enjoyment... More

We made a quick stop at Rye Harbor State Park during an early spring visit to the NH coast. What lovely views of the harbor and of White Island Lighthouse on the Isles of Shoals! We were especially interested to see the 1614 Monument commemorating John Smith’s expedition to the area, which took place a few years after he founded... More

We love visiting Rye (rather than Hampton). Its clean, family friendly beaches are a very quick drive from Mass.

Been there many times. There's great views of the harbor to take pictures. It's a great place to fly a kite as well on the grassy area when the breeze kicks up. If you want to head out of the sun there's picnic tables under the pavilion in the middle of the park. It a nice place to sit out... More

My daughter's wedding reception was recently held at the beautiful location of Rye Harbor State Park. The park has a beautiful 40x80, three-peaked white tent and provides electricity. The bathrooms could use some updating as they are the "typical" state park restrooms but they served the purpose. If you are looking to have a seaside wedding, at a fraction of... More
