Took the trip yesterday, 5 hours on the ocean, 5 species of whale plus dolphins seen. Excellent day and great value. Better than any other 'nature' trips we have done in Maine that charge similar amounts for half the time and then rattle the tip...More

We took the trip on one of the hottest days of the summer. The boat goes out toward the Isles of Shoals, about 7 miles. Despite being 95+ on land, it got very cool out there. (Always bring a coat or sweatshirt!) We saw several...More

Granite State is the best. If there are whales around, you'll see them. Naturalist interpreters and interns are on board to point out the whales on all sides, and come around with maps and info to explain more. They are truly knowledgeable and kind. We...More

The staff was very helpful and informative. Be sure to bring some type of rain gear - even with calm seas you can get sprayed/wet. They had snacks but we brought our own. We would go again.

Our boat trip left mid morning and we saw a Minke whale within 30 minutes. We were out for 5 hours and saw 5 different species. I really don't think it makes a difference as what time of day you go
