We recently hiked to the top of Mt Kearsarge, at the height of the leaf season. The views were spectacular, even on a slightly rainy and overcast day. The hike is great and it is a good place to reconnect to the real world.

This place was beautiful for fall colours. It's the best place if you want to do some hiking along with enjoying the fall colours. I went here with my wife and kid. There is a 4 mile drive up the hill from where you take your tickets, narrow roads leads to the parking area through a very picturesque scenic drive.... More

This state park is located on the south side of Mt. Kearsarge and has a road with a parking and picnic area only a short hike away from the summit. A relatively easy hike with kids or families to enjoy some spectacular views. Be aware that the gate closes at 4:30pm, so a sunset hike isn't going to work out... More

Unless you are an experienced hiker, I would not call the short hike "easy". Especially with little kids/babies. Don't listen to the other reviews....it is steep at times and scary to climb all the rocks while trying to guide a child through every step. It is a beautiful view at the top. Lots of dogs on the trails = lots... More

Rollins State Park is a lovely mountainous park with plenty of room for picnics and lots of trails. Hiking to the top of Mt. Kearsarge is easy from the little parking lot at the top of the auto road. It's about a half mile, and although it can be steep at times, it is appropriate for dogs and children. After... More

Always love traveling to Rollins! First of all, you get to drive through Warner on the way up to the mountain. It's a pretty climb, esp. during foliage season. Secondly, even with a bum knee (still recovering from surgery) you can still make it up Kearsarge! 1/2 mile climb and BAM, there you are at the summit. And lastly, the... More

What a great place! We arrived around 1pm driving from Boston for less than 2 hours, paid an entrance fee of $4 per person, took hiking trails map, and drove up to the parking area; it is 6.5 miles drive up very narrow mountain paved road. We easily found parking and started 0.3 miles easy hike to the summit of... More

The drive into Rollins park is beautiful. As you get higher, the views at the scenic vistas are fantastic. The parking lot provides the best view of all (outside of the hike up Mt. Kearsarge). There are toilets and there are plenty of picnic tables around, to make for a memorable family picnic. My only complaint would be the width... More

We drove up the road, had a picnic near the parking area (with a gorgeous view) and then hiked up to the summit. The hike was easy, my kids had no problem getting up there.
