AMERICANA AT ITS BEST

We love to tour America and take in its historic locales. Wolfeboro is one of the best, and quietest, we've ever seen.

After nearly 10 years, I revisited this museum on a daytrip to Wolfeboro. It was just as well maintained by the Wolfeboro Historical Society as on the last visit. The two guides gave excellent tours of the buildings. The guide in the Monitor Engine Company Firehouse was very knowledgeable about the four pieces of Wolfeboro fire equipment from the 1800's... Read somewhere allow minimum 30 minutes but we enjoyed it so much we spent 2 hours. Our 2 hour visit went past closing time and our friendly guide didn't rush us out at all. This was the first time I've been to an old house museum that I could go in every room and touch things. It was very interesting... More

It's been years since we visited this site with our children. We were absolutely delighted with the very personal tour we received of both the firehouse and the home. We didn't have enough time to visit the school. The guide thrilled me when he invited our children to pet the horsehair chair. Wow, I thought, one could never do that... More

A visit to the Clark House Museum in Wolfeboro, was one of the highlights of our visit to New Hampshire. Being led by two kind and knowledgeable guides, made the tour an entertaining and educational experience. Their love of our cultural heritage and children was obvious by their very generous sharing of their time and their question and answer approach.... More

An historic gem. This little complex gives an authentic look into Wolfeboro's past. The local docents do a wonderful job and it is well worth a look to support a worthwhile endeavor.

I enjoyed going to the Clark House Museum. It starts off with a tour of some old fire engines. After that you go to the old Clark House. The tour is very detailed and the have a very big collection of artifacts from many different years. The house is well kept. Next you head to the School House. They even... More
