Since we were driving US 302 from Vermont into New Hampshire, we stopped to see the Haverhill-Bath Bridge. The bridge is actually in Woodsville Village between the towns of Bath and Haverhill; it is just off US 302 on NH 135. The 256’ bridge spans the Ammonoosuc River. Up US 302 in Bath, another covered bridge spans the same river.... More

This was a nice quick photo opportunity for seeing the oldest covered bridge in the USA. It is right off the main road.

We love searching out covered bridges and waterfalls. This one is close to Bath, easily drive-able, and quite picturesque.

They did a nice job when they rebuilt this some time ago. Even more fun is the Bath General Store by the bridge. This is one of the nicer covered bridges in NH

Being a native I tend to take a lot of things for granted, like covered bridges. This bridge is a fine example of NH character that I've grown up with and seldom give a second look. If your from away you probably should stop and get a picture because unlike me you are not going to see this sort of... More

There is nothing around there. One or two little shops and they weren't open when we stopped. The bridge is well maintained. You drive through.......turn around and drive back through. You've been there and done that.

Stopped by while biking the rail trail. The work that has been done to preserve this bridge is remarkable.

It's worth the stop to visit the Haverhill-Bath covered bridge. You get to see the confluence of two rivers, the Connecticut and Ammomossic rivers.
