We love Poverty Beach. It isn't as crowded at the beach near the Convention Center, and it is easy to find free street parking close to the beach access point. The sand is clean, the beach is wide. Great place for boarding.

Minutes away from restaurants, we took our bikes down to Poverty Beach as the views of the coastal mansions were impeccable. Waves here were prominent so be sure to bring your boogie boards (and don't forget those beach tags)! It wasn't as packed here as it was further down the coast, which was nice. Can rent umbrellas & cabanas as... More

I thought my husband was kidding when he said we were going to "Poverty Beach." I heard of Atlantic City, Wildwood, but not of Poverty Beach. We spent one day there and the beach was really nice. There are places to stay overnight, which are really convenient if your staying longer than a day. There is a bathroom and an... More

We rent a home at Poverty Beach. We love this beach! It is so clean and not crowded. You can also fish off this beach.

We were there peak season but on a very cloudy day that promised thunderstorms until the day before. Thankfully it simply remained cloudy all day, chasing crowds away. Very peaceful, you can just spend hours staring at the ocean, listening to the sound of the sea. $6 per person for a single day tag, free parking, restroom and open shower... More

We ❤️ Cape May beach! We will never get tired of this beauty. Not crowded, wonderful beach with clean, white creamy sand. Just bring your beach chairs, umbrellas and tanning lotion and you are on your way to peace and serenity for free! Watching the dolphins few meters from the shore is magical. 🐬 #discovercapemay #CapeMay #travel #adventuretime

I was here off-season, on a very windy day. I can't walk far, but I did have to hit the beach at least once while I was in town! There was designated Hcap parking at the ramp to the beach, and that was a shorter trip than walking out of my ocean-front hotel, over to the dune ramps, across the... More

I must confess I put average to keep people away. This is what our friends call the secret beach and for good reason. It is simply beautiful and rarely visited by the summer crowds. I'm not sure why as the beaches are close to the street and there is a bathhouse. We love this beach and hope you won't visit.... More

Easy, free parking. Located at north end of Beach Ave. Great for long beach walks and usually not crowded.
