Loved the history lesson that the attendant gave us about the Colonial House. It used to be a tavern for 'men only' and the whole large family lived upstairs--there is even a secret etching in the window glass upstairs from the 1800's. What an interesting...More

I really learned a lot of things that I didn't know. The tour was very educational. and the location was right out of a novel. The shops surrounding the museum made me feel like I was an extra in a movie like "Ground hog day"...More

We love Williamsburg, so we found this representation of the colonial period in Cape May very interesting. We're so glad that it was saved for posterity.

Was visiting a friend in Cape May and we stopped in at the Colonial house for a drink. The bartender was very friendly & the prices were reasonable.

This house has limited hours, so be sure and check when it might be open. There are three rooms to see with interesting items in each. You cannot go upstairs due to a very steep staircase. It was originally right on Washington St. but was...More

We got to visit Colonial House as it was opening at its new location and were very impressed with this introduction to pre-Victorian Cape May life. Thank you for preserving it!

This was a really interesting place. We were there at night when most everything but the restaurant was shutting down, so I cannot provide info for "daytime" visits. It's well tended and visually pleasing. But it is not chock full of "things to do" so...More
