Having worked at the skating rink over 35 years ago, I can tell you the park only get better! with the peddle boats in the water, the various areas for running, sports, as well as BBQing. Can't go wrong with a day in the park.
This is a family friendly park. The kids will have a great time at the kids playground and there's great open space for anyone to practice their favorite sports, picnics, strolling, or just relaxing with nature. Come one, come all!

have seen people using table top grills, but I am not sure they arepermited, especially propane or white gas camping grills. There are designated areas for barbecueing and charcoal grills are available. I suggest you go on the Eliabeth Nj website about the city parks. Sorry I could not be more informative. I go there frequently but never to picnic or barbecue.
