Don’t let the size of the building fool you. This is packed with period furniture, decorations, and historical photos relating to the lighthouse. Very good historical perspective of the lighthouse and its function. The staff is friendly and well informed. Available to answer questions. Beautiful grounds. In the summer there is a butterfly garden. A must for anyone who enjoys... More

This establishment located on the beautiful Central Ave is packed with history. The tour will tell you about its past then you can go to the top and have a nice view over the inlet. Its gardens it very nice and well maintained in all seasons, it also a nice rest stop on your Seawall walk.

Hubby and I heard about the beautiful garden behind the Lighthouse. The inlet was so tranquil to sit on the bench and look over. The gardens are so pretty and there are so many butterflies among the assortment of flowers.

The Hereford lighthouse is a great place to visit with lots of history. The self guided tour didn't take to long but there wasn't many people there that day so my wife and I could take in the views much longer. We were there in mid October. The day we visited it was raining heavily and very stormy so we... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Hereford Lighthouse in December 2016. The house and grounds were decorated beautifully for the Christmas Holiday, the gardens were still lovely to see and the views are spectacular. The lighthouse houses several interesting displays and has a seaworthy history.

I have been here many times and never tire of the beautiful gardens here. The lighthouse is not high but there is a nice gift shop inside. There are several themed gardens, a secret garden, herb garden, and a path that goes to the seawall path with benches to sit and enjoy the ocean. Peaceful serene seaside setting. Only portable... Stopped by on our way home from Cape May and it was well worth the short detour. The lighthouse was well kept and full of interesting information and displays. Lovely views of the beach and surrounding community from near the top (you can't go up to the level with the light). The gardens around the house were extraordinary and abounded... More

The light house still operates it light nightly although it now is open to the public as a museum for young and old to enjoy, gain a respect for the importance of the lighthouse in their day. This is a very good history lesson.
