I walked by The Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove New Jersey several times in August 2020. I walked on the boardwalk and then on Ocean Pathway. Ocean Pathway is full of interesting houses. This leads to The Great Auditorium which is a unique building on the Jersey Shore. On Sundays the doors are open so you can look inside. To the side of The Great Auditorium is a gazebo and some other interesting things. It is just very nice to walk around here.

Nostalgia with the old hymns that bring back childhood memories, preaching from yesteryear, and ponderous announcements. A great choir and organist Gordon Turk are wonderful. When is the last time that you saw a hymn leader flap his arms like Bernie Sanders? Ah, I think because I’m elderly I love this place because there are so many people there who are older than me. This is a great place of worship that everyone should try once before they die, a lot of folks intuitively know this.

First, the venue is over 100 years old and survived (with some damage) Superstorm Sandy. We have been going to the Great Auditorium for years. During the Summer, the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association have entertainment for the general public and their members of the Methodist following. Last night 11 July 2015, we saw Oh What a Night Tribute (ohwhatanighttribute.com) to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. These four entertainers were absolutely spectacular.

We have seen performances by The Beach Boys, Tony Orlando, Tribute to ABBA, and many more over the years, This building is not air conditioned. The doors and windows are left open for the breeze from the ocean, which is about .5 miles to the east. The seats are not cushioned like a theater. After all, the original intent is for religious services. There is accommodation for disabled folks. If you must, bring a cushion to sit on because of the lack of cushioned seating. We don't, but I see people do bring their own seat cushions. The toilet facilities are located across the street from the auditorium. Just a short walk. Go early because parking may be difficult. Ocean Grove has very narrow streets. Venue has no parking lot except for disabled access. Staff: Ticketing - very accommodating (you may order tix on line); Ushers - friendly and are all volunteer members of the association.

Last night, prior to the show, a group called The RockNRoll Chorus from Howell NJ, performed. Young men and women who performed acapella and dance routines for an hour. This group was also great. And, this was a free sample of great entertainment.

This is a great place for date night or for taking the children (depending of what entertainment is scheduled). No matter what the entertainment will always be "G" rated.

We paid $69.00 for two tix 2nd row center. These seats became available about 3:00 p.m. Sometimes you get lucky. No matter we would go no matte where we sit. The cost varies dependent on the performer. Kenny Rogers plays next week and top shelf is $60.00. If you want great, wholesome entertainment close to home or if you happen to be in the neighborhood, The Great Auditorium is a good stop.

This is a magnificent, historic, wooden structure that I find just beautiful. Try to attend either a service or an organ concert to fully appreciate the building. I love it!

This is an impressive building from a previous period in American History. Built predominantly of wood this is a large room. Attended a brass band concert. The band was joined by the organ for a couple of numbers. A mighty beast indeed. Maybe some pipes needed fine-tuning

One of my great treats is enjoying a live concert on a summer’s evening at the Great Auditorium. Doors open, a sea breeze blowing through. Great acoustics. Old fashioned US spirit. 125 Year’s of history. You can picture the great performers and speakers who have come before. There are few experiences like a concert at the great auditorium. Only thing better is if you get to hear the organ.

Haven't been to a show there in a while, but still go by when we're in the area. Shows are usually pretty good with some old(er) headliners. No ac but a breeze helps. Check who'll be there on their web site
