I have been a member (annual donation) for a number of years and the Basie has been my favorite place to see a show for a long time. Unfortunately, the member benefits have been decreased with the pre-sale ticket requirement being raised in the middle...More

Just went with my wife and daughter to see the Golden Dragons Chinese Acrobats. As always, The Basie is great and they really seem to be making some upgrades. A new lobby is in the works and there seems to be more restrooms. Drinks are...More

We love the Count Basie theater, a beautifully restored theater that had delightful entertainment year-round. We are fortunate that we also have the PNC Arts Center nearby, however the CB is perfect for those smaller draws, and the free movie nights during the summer! Only...More

We really love the group Rain and had the opportunity to see them Saturday night at the Count Basie Theatre. Very quaint old style theatre that probably seats about 1200 people including the balcony. Enjoy the size and usually acoustics are quite good. Something was...More

I'm 6 feet tall and my girlfriend is 5'6", we got balcony seats and they were rediculously small. We couldn't even sit without our knees being smashed into the seat in front of us. The seat itself was too skinny, we are average weight and...More

I want to buy first row, end of the row tickets for my mom, but the pictures on line show the sound system boxes right in that area, seemingly on both sides. Would theses be in the way of a petite 5 foot tall lady?

I don't think you will have trouble seeing, but sitting that close to the stage puts you close to the speakers. Those can be rather loud at times.

Hello. I'm looking to come up from Atlanta with a friend from Nashville to go to The Soul Kitchen in mid October 2016. There is a specific event that we are trying to go to where we can meet Jon Bon Jovi and family. I hear that the Count Basie Theatre is very near by. Has anyone gone over to the Jovi Soul Kitchen and had a meal or made a donation for someone to have a meal?

Save yourself the hassle of driving around looking for parking on the street or in one of the muni lots. Best place to park is the Train Station. Always a parking space, it's free and it's a 2 block, 5 minute well lit walk... More
