Took my 18 month old granddaughter on the North Pole Express and it was just magical. She loved the train ride as did all the rest of us. The expression on her little face when the elves came in the car and started singing was priceless. I did snap of picture of this and I will treasure always. The elves... More

We drove over an hour with our four year old for The North Pole Express and it was totally worth it. The ride with the Steam Engine and Vintage cars is great. There is singing and entertainment on the train from the elves. You arrive at Rigoes station greeted by Santa and Mrs. Claus. There is facepainting, refreshments, and a... More

We saw this listed on the placemat at Billy's Hot Dog in Ringoes (see review under Stewarts). We decided to give it a try. It was a great chance to take a short train ride to a very friendly local farm. They had a friendly MC, games, toys, a maze, pumpkin picking, hay rides, animals, etc. It was a ton... More

This was my first steam train ride. Lots of fun. Staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the train and area. Special kudos to Chase who showed me a great spot to take pictures. So interesting to watch the engine connect. Old train cars: Wood work, window shades, green glass, etc. There is a small museum at the Ringoes station... More

Never meet a child that did not enjoy their ride. They even have a little gift and snack shop at the Ringoe's station. During the Holidays the run special trains such as the Santa and Easter Bunny Train. During the week the men and women who run the train work on restoring old engines and cars to keep train history... More

Enjoyed this train ride. I may have enjoyed it more than my kids. It's a short and sweet ride out of Flemington to Pumpkin Junction. The kids liked the corn pit and picking pumpkins. I appreciated the warm cider on this cold day. The conductor on the train was warm and friendly. Overall, it made for a nice autumn day... More

My wife and I decided to try the Black River & Western Railroad out of Flemington for pumpkins with our 6yo and 2yo grandsons. We would do the train with my mother-in-law and everybody at Allaire State Park, but with my daughter trying to move and us taking the kids out of the way we tried this excursion today. We... More

My 18-month old daughter and I came out to ride the train today. It was pulled by their steam engine, 2-8-0 "Consolidation"-type #60, which runs select weekends and special events throughout the summer/fall/winter. The ride itself is long enough for adults and short enough for kids to keep their attention spans happy. The ride is not rough at all, it... More
