It is a small but interesting museum with some nice exhibits, pictures, uniforms, guns and newspaper articles from the civil war to current times. Also, on the property are some military equipment such as airplanes and tanks. It would be nice if you could go inside of the tanks, but at present you can not do so.

Didn't expect this gem of a museum to be in a place like this. If you are passing through the area and have an extra 1-2 hours don't hesitate to check this museum out. It has excellent displays of uniforms - pictures - weapons and literature covering the 1800 and 1900 centuries. Ask to see the back storage area where... More

I was stationed at Sea Girt 12 years ago. The museum had some real interesting displays. I even donated some equipment and paperwork to them.

Museum focuses mainly on the New Jersey National Guard, highlights include some neat exhibits on a local shipwreck and a Civil War era submarine. Great museum, lots of cool stuff to explore. Don't miss the vehicle gallery in the hangar through the back of the main building.

It's a great place to go to learn about the history of the National guard. Spend in the musseum and you can walk around and look at the buildings they have open to the public that is part of the state park. then you can go sit on the little beach and have a picnic.

The museum itself is average. A good display of military uniforms, some arms and artillery. The best is in the back. Along with a selection of military vehicles there is a real treat. There is a perfectly preserved civil war era submarine. Out is called The Intelligent Whale. If you have any interest in the civil war or submarine history... More
