You have probably driven by this place and never even knew it existed. The "Cattus Island" sign (on Fischer Blvd in Toms River) is very innocuous and in no way indicates the beautiful nature center and lush expansive island that lies behind it. After Super...More

It's a cool place for a county park. They have lots of little things kids will like to look at and read about the animals and stuff. I'd give it another star if they'd let you camp out there but they don't.

We just spent the day here for the first time and I loved every minute of it. Start with the environmental center. It has some of the best educational exhibits on local wildlife I've seen in this area as well as live animals presentations. Plenty...More

Cooper Environmental Center very informative. Great window for bird spotting (complete with binoculars), some displays are at or below eye level, which is great for kids. Has a little bit of everything - displays on aquatic life as well as various animals and wildlife in...More

Hi, I haven't noticed if they have restored it since Sandy. I was there about a month ago and they were doing construction in that area but the trails are good to go!
