We visited here from a fantastic experience at Eikehof, so perhaps had high expectations. The lady who managed the wine tastings was very polite but difficult to understand and seemed to have very little knowledge. The wine was good, but the whole experience was somewhat soulless and we would certainly avoid on a subsequent visit. The least interesting farm on... More

During our 2-day Franschhoek visit we have participated in the main activity in Franschhoek which is 'tasting wines'. But of course we also went to the great restaurants to eat and drink more wine. After all that activity you need a good place to rest; the Chamonix hotel - panorama view apartment was perfect for that. We could see the... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tasting at Chamonix. The Tasting Room is in the historic blacksmith shop, so very different to the majority of the other Tasting Rooms we visited. It was lovely sitting under the trees and as they were harvesting we were able to watch the tractor go into the cellar with the grapes. The lady serving us... More

Our visit was quite a let down. The staff that assists with the wine tasting has a very basic knowledge of the wines & seem to be very bored with their jobs. They also can't cope with the volumes of people.

We visited as part of the wine tram tour. Nice location in a lovely rustic old blacksmiths building but sadly no access to the vineyards so not a lot to look at. The wines we tasted were nice though

The Food at Reuben's was excellent and so was the service! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting is beautiful, however, the restaurant premises are not very well kept, there were bottles and tins laying around and the deck was very dirty. This is pity as it takes away from the great food and fantastic staff.

Almost spent an hour here during the wine tram of Franschhoek. It was on our list from before arrival in Franschhoek. We however got there and was really disappointed. Dingy corner with dirty tables... People leaving told us it was not worth it. And there was a terrible odour in the air. Luckily the bus hadn't left yet, so jumped... More

Chamonix is beautifully located in Franschoek. Very picturesque. We visited the wine tasting and had a few very good wines. especially the chardonay and the pinot noir from their reserve tasting menu. There is a small playground for the kids aswell. Highly recommend.
