Starting with the beautiful gravel drive leading to the estate lined with Acacia trees our time at De Wetshof Estate was a treat for both the taste buds and the eyes. Henerick our wine guide at De Weshof was a gracious and knowledgeable host whose commitment to wine made our tasting a true pleasure. I came to the winery familiar... More

A brief look at the photos will tell you this place is beautiful. The tasting is done in old world elegance. Our wine steward was Heinrich and he was out standing. He was personable and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Heinrich is studying to be a sommelier - so we benefited from his in-depth knowledge and suggestions for things... More

We stopped by for a quick wine tasting but arrived with 2 other small groups already there. Only one fellow on duty so our tasting was very slow. Chardonnay's are great. The main lounge is nice but a little out of place (pretentious) for Robertson Valley which we found so friendly and welcoming in all other respects.

The Pinot Noir at this place blew us away. We like our Pinot Noir ig and bold. Most SA pinots are soft and weak, more like dark rose' than real red wine. Well De Wetshof has an amazing pinot that stands up for itself. The best we found in SA.

We visited De Wetshof estate close to closing time and still we were warmly welcomed. They shared the history behind their fantastic Chardonnay and what a Chardonnay that is. We bought some of their pino noir chardonnay and enjoyed that with our dinner that evening. What a great way to end off our Robertson trip.

We tasted delicious white wines in this beautiful house. They are also producing some excellent reds as well. We were alone for the tasting and even met some of the wine staff who contributed to our understanding of the winery. I plan to buy some of their wines when I get home.

De Wetshof specializes in white wine and sparkling wines. The tasting room is a lovely old sitting room with high back chairs and elegant surroundings. When it's busy the tastings can get chaotic, but the wine is worth the wait.

We stopped at De Wetshof wine estate for a wine tasting on Saturday April 30th. We were the 2 only persons. The place is stunning, they propose wine tasting in the living room of an old house. The girl doing the wine tasting was very knowledgeable and very nice. We recommend this place
