All I can say is WOW. What an amazing experience. We arrived at the cellars at 10.30am on New Years Eve.... so no judging please... We were offered a couple of options for wine tasting.... we settled on one and were blown away by the knowledge gained and the fabulous wines. The staff were amazing and even after the doors... What a wine taste experience. Nice drive from cape town, short and sweet. Cellar is just on other side of wellington. When you walk in, you feel comfortable and at home. Xenia, our hostess and pourer, made this very special. Vibrant, energetic, funny... really a perfect person to make you feel comfortable. Very knowledgable about wines and the marketing side... Pinotage on Tap yesterday at Dimersfontein was awesome as always. Even the weather this time round played along. The music was better than in previous years and so was the food. Even though the sandwich to start off with was a little dry and the dessert nothing special, it did not influence the enjoyment of the day! Great wine -... More

The view from the cellar is very nice and their wines are of medium standard. You can only taste wine there as they do not have a restaurant or bistro. In winter they may have a fire going if it is cold. It is a pity that when looking towards the mountains the cellars roofs are so prominent down below.

Several of our wedding party stayed at Bovlei as there wasn't enough accomodation for all at Grand Dedale, but no-one felt it was second best. Everyojne complimented it's quiet and relaxed atmosphere and many will be returning in the future.

Bovlei has always been known for the value for money wines - now with the Mad Hatters range of exotic varietals, they offer something different - and still for a great price!
