The USS Liberty Wreck is the most famous dive site in Bali. It is also one of the best sunken ship wrecks in the world! If you come to Bali, you absolutely have to dive there The liberty ship was hit by a Japanese torpedo then was beached near Tulamben. In 1963, the eruption of Mount Agung caused the vessel to slip off the beach, and it now lies on a sand slope in 9 to 30 m of water. The wreck is about 130 m long with the shallowest part at about 5 m deep and the deepest on the other side of the wreck at about 30 m deep.

This was my first diving spot and it was one of the best dives I’ve ever done were the water is clear and it is a good spot for new divers, the people are friendly around that area.

The most interesting thing about the Reckless how is turning slowly into a coral reef. There a lot of fish nearby and around it

Went for "Try Scuba" here with one of the Scuba Diving centers from Amed. There are a lot of diving schools near this area and Amed beach which would take you to dive at this location. Alternatively, a lot of people also do snorkeling here.

We came to Tulamben to dive the wreck. Unfortunately due to an ear infection i couldn't dive. My partner really enjoyed his dive, and I was impressed by how enjoyable the wreck snorkelling experience was though disappointed not to dive. It's well worth a visit...More

Pretty cool when you think about it, a shipwreck dive barely a few metres from a pristine shoreline – makes for a great first open water dive. It can get a little crowded, even in off-peak season, but that's life. Also great for snorkelling.

We rented fins and masks from a local dive centre and swam out over the wreck. It is fairly large and ranges in depth from about 5 - 20 m so it is easy to freedive. It was absolutely beautiful! Loads of reef fish, a...More

Yes you can. I stayed at the ocean sun resort and could hire snorkel and dive gear from the resort. I’m pretty sure you had to go out with a guide though.

Yes/No. If not certified then you will have to do a "Try dive/Discover Scuba" course. This is an all day affair and involves some theory and pool work before diving. You will then dive with an instructor to a max 12m. The... More
