The USS Liberty Wreck is the most famous dive site in Bali. It is also one of the best sunken ship wrecks in the world! If you come to Bali, you absolutely have to dive there The liberty ship was hit by a Japanese torpedo then was beached near Tulamben. In 1963, the eruption of Mount Agung caused the vessel to slip off the beach, and it now lies on a sand slope in 9 to 30 m of water. The wreck is about 130 m long with the shallowest part at about 5 m deep and the deepest on the other side of the wreck at about 30 m deep.

Shore dive with a somewhat uncomfortable entrance over the stones on the beach and then in the shallows. Easy swim over a black sand out to the Liberty with occasional critters on the way is you're lucky (we saw a cute long limbed octopus). Spectacular wreck with a lot of growth, significant fish/other activity and some pretty relaxed animals (such... More

Scuba diving is advisable because you can go inside the wreck at deeper depths. I went with Nico Dives and enjoyed it. You will receive a run through and boat plan of the wreck. Please keep in mind the coral, do not touch or kick coral, the fish need it. If you see trash, pick it up. I will come... More

Had a great time diving here! The ship is humongous and a lot of different species of fishes are spotted here! The visibility is very good but lower than that of the Gili Islands. Highly recommend this dive when in Tulamben!

Do it!! Amazing dive - did it twice in daylight and once as a night dive. Really spectacular coral growths and incredible array of sealife - notable sightings include lion fish and schools of enormous Hump Head parrot fish ... ship is a wonderful dive around the perimeter but also easily accessible so you can investigate more & venture inside... The USS Liberty Wreck is the most famous dive site in Bali. It is also one of the best sunken ship wrecks in the world! And for me one of the scariest as a beginner diver. When planning our dive trip to Bali the liberty wreck was one of those you frequently read about as a must do. I haven't done many wrecks, but the 3-4 hour ride from Seminyak each way was not worth what we saw.

I don't scuba dive(yet) so I snorkeling the short distance to the ship I would say no more than 200 feet from shore. The bow of the I'll fated ship lies just below the surface. You can easy swim down and touch it. It's beauty comes from the sea life that has now made it there home. The curtain of... More

You gonna love the corals and fascinated colors on the wreck. Morays, Napoleon Fish and eel garden you'll find out definitely. You should make at least a few dives to enjoy the nature and life going on around the wreck.

Being there for shipwreck dive with my friends, four of us. The shipwreck itself is a charismatic giant iron which gave you goosebumps. I feel overwhelmed diving around this historical WWII ship.

This was a great experience for snorkeling, and we will go back and SCUBA dive there as well. It is probably the easiest wreck diving on the planet, I can't imagine a safer experience. The wreck is maybe 30m from shore... you just walk into the water and swim out. You can hire an inexpensive guide if you are not... More
