Just left and really impressed by the well preserved and restored temple complex. Entry is 20 baht for Thais and 100 baht for everyone else. This is always a niggle for me especially as the difference is always just written in thai script. The complex...More

This temple is very well restored. Likely to be constructed in XI century. The most valuable ancient objects are at the Phimai museum, about 10 min to walk.

Great day out from Korat. If you’ve been to Angkor Wat then you’ll love this place; apparently used as a template to build Angkor. As per usual, farang pay 4 times (100baht) as much to get in - but well worth it & great photo...More

Amazing visit! If you live in Thailand and don't want or can't go to Angor Wat, this is a good place where to see typical Khmer architecture (there are a lot of other temples to visit from Surin as well), it is not as big...More

A 45 minute drive from Korat. Very interesting to see the old temple. Cheap entry. Can get really hot inside the area though.

It's a mini, mini, mini Angkor Wat. Which, makes sense, as this marked the northern end of the Ancient (Angkor - Phimai) Khmer Highway. The temple complex itself is small and can be explored easily in a couple of hours. After you're done, support the...More

The historical park contains ruins of historical period similar to the Angkor found in Cambodia. In the information center signs in Thai and English explain the history. Prepare a hat and sunscreen as there is not much shade in the area. In about two hours...More

This historical site is one of two most important Khmer monuments in today's Thailand -- the other is Prasat Hin Phanom Rung in Buriram Province. The structures here (and at Phanom Rung) are literally reconstructed from piles of stone remains of the former temple using...More
