Though the road to here isn't paved, it's well worth the drive. Once off the main (paved) road, the next six miles are on a dirt road that can have some deep ruts but the views are incredible of the badlands. There are several pull offs and a trail that leads to lookouts. Really amazing. My car is as sadan... More

Magnificent and surprising views of New Mexico Badlands. Angel Peak pictures require a zoom lens - so I think.

For free its a good spot. Very few level spots for tents. Pretty scenery. But!!!!! Its an active drilling area, so smell of petroleum and sounds of venting and drilling all night long. The oil wells and roads definitely detract from the view.

I almost hate to leave this review! This place really "spoke" to me. I needed some peace and isolation, and this was just about perfect. Very interesting terrain, and the view from our campsite was breathtaking. There were only two other campers the weekend we were there, which was the weekend after Labor Day. No one was using the picnic... More

The peak is deteriorating at a rapid pace it used to look like a kneeling angel complete with wings it has lost its wings and shrunk down due to erosion. Still a neat area to adventure around.

Nice vistas and a easy and quick ride/hike to all of them. You need to be ready for the turn off of US 550 as the signage doesn't give you much advance notification, particularly as the traffic is traveling at 70+ mph.

I stopped here on my way back from Albuquerque and was not disappointed. This is one of the local landmarks in the Farmington area that was on my "to do" list for the last 6 years. I only went as far as the first overlook, but the views of the rock formations in Kutz Canyon were vivid. The colors of... More

Awesome views of the "badlands", great look out sites to sit and gaze upon the canyon and rock formations, take along a picnic lunch and sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery
