In what is obviously a newer building with historic bones and ambiance, there are great examples of virtually all of the pueblo people's crafts, many very very high quality, with fair, appropriate pricing. Not lots of inexpensive souvenirs but nice cards as well as pots,...More

We always plan a stop at Chimayo Trading and Mercantile and Chimayo Trading Del Norte with our out-of-town visitors. John Abrams in Chimayo and his son, Gabriel, in Rancho de Taos are always ready to explain the various native art works and provide insight into...More

We loved this place! The selection of rugs is unique in Chimayo; we were far closer getting into trouble there than at some other places. The pottery selection is fantastic, and we are already saving up for a trip next year -- and this place...More

Very quaint building. Not at all what you would expect when you walk in. Lots of Native American Art, handcrafted jewelry and pottery galore. Was a nice quiet place to shop for gifts and reasonably priced.

If you want to see what the artisans of New Mexico have to offer, this is the place. This store is more like a combination museum and art gallery. They have a huge selection of jewelry, pottery, weaving, paintings and much more.

The Chimayo Trading and Mercantile name subtly underscores the quality of Native American Art which is found there. Recommended to us by a serious collector of SW Art and we were so very pleased upon stopping in. Quality is evident & pricing is both fair...More

What a treat. Such a wonderful variety of quality art. John was so knowledgeable. He had wonderful stories about the artists and such an appreciation for their work. He printed out an article on Wayne "Snowbird" Shields for me as I purchased one of his...More

I revisited this shop four years after accidently discovering it while on the high road to Taos. The owner educated me on pottery and Pueblo arts. I returned since I knew I would find quality items complete with printouts about the artist. I felt confident...More

It is Highway 76. I simply entered Chimayo in the GPS and 76 for the street. It is. Small town and people will direct you. No fees since it is an actual store but museum quality goods.
