The church is known for its dirt and healing power. Stop by and admire the altar as well as the dirt room.

Visited recently on a bus trip through Colorado and New Mexico. The chapel here is a Roman Catholic Church and a National Historic Landmark. It is famous for the healing, sacred sand that one can remove from a pit in a small room behind the...More

Such an amazing place in such a beautiful setting, We were there on a busy Sunday morning and just being a small part of the faithful who attended the morning service was a very moving and reinvigorating experience.. You are welcome regardless of your faith!

Of course no comparison with European pilgrimage churches but nevertheless worth seeing. We were there very early and had a nice peaceful and quiet experience. It's on the way from Santa Fe to Taos and is worth the little stop.

This is such a beautiful old church and we so enjoy coming here for peaceful prayer. It can get crowded at times, so if your looking for quiet time, don't come @ peak times. The gardens are beautiful so take your time to enjoy.

The chapels were lovely and well worth the drive to see. They have plans to expand the complex and add more things to do there. It is a very reverent place.

Not sure as i'm not a local. Suggest you call Sacred Heart or Santuario and ask about local transportation for Good Friday service.

We visited as tourists and are not Catholic, but I can tell you it is a very moving and beautiful place no matter what religion you practice.
